WebForce Logistics was formed in 1999 to provide national sameday and overnight services for blue chip and e-commerce companies. It has over 60 operational centres covering 90% of the UK, that provide both same day courier and storage facilities. When I took over as CEO, it took some time to refocus the business, and I believe that by outsourcing our IT to NetDespatch, WebForce today is unique in its ability to provide flexible and innovative national logistical solutions to a growing client base.

WebForce uses technology extensively. The NetDespatch web services provide us with on-line booking, quoting and tracking facilities, as well as electronically distributing and accurately pricing all our jobs. This ensures a cost-effective, visible and efficient solution for our clients, who include Energis Communications and TNT Newsfast, and also ensures seamless integration with local agent's despatch software.

I spend a lot of time on the road visiting prospective and existing clients, as well as liaising with Webforce depots to ensure that our more complex contracts are executed exactly according to our customers' requirements, and it is therefore important that our day-to-day operation is automated, reliable and resilient.

Webforce is now going from strength to strength. With new contracts and alliances in progress, and with local operations becoming more technically proficient, we will be able to extend the use of technology within the business. Once the Webforce share-holders adopt mobile communications and can update the NetDespatch servers in real time, we will be able to make the most of their more advanced facilities, where jobs can be sent straight to the drivers, and the signature capture application, will be able to immediately display POD signatures on our web site.
